Sorry I haven’t been blogging much, lately, Internets. I’m hella busy and I’m probably going to be waaay more busy till like July. This breakneck speed is killin’ me. Though I do look forward to seeing everyone at Hurricane Who in Orlando on Halloween weekend.

So, Like, when I’m bored but my brain wont work any more for writing or reading, I color. And jigglykat  just had this conversation of WIN about Oregon Trail with macbeemer that got me kinda… colorin’ about it.

The highlights…

macbeemer: he was all “wahhhh i broke my arm” and then he got mauled by a bear

So, um, yeah. That’s my 24 color tribute to macbeemer  and Oregon Trail.

Cosplay idea

Ok…. I kinda need two more cats for this. I’m going to dress up my cats as Torchwood and cosplay them. hahahaha. Or is it Catsplay??

PK is going to be Captain Jack.

And Aggie can be… I don’t know. How’s about Ianto?  She’s a bit of a weirdo tho. I don’t know.

And Gwen can be.. well.. Gwen

And I will dress them up in funny little Torchwood outfits and take pictures and caption them.  James doesn’t think it’s a good idea. I don’t know why.

I know I’ve dropped off the face of the earth, but I’ve been busy as all get-go with starting the new job, the move that never ends, writing the first chapter of the book (OMG, THEY WANT TO SEE A FIRST CHAPTER, HAVE I MENTIONED THAT LATELY?????) and um… oh yeah, started a new semester of teaching, and… and… no, I think that’s everything LOL. Oh wait, trying to put everything away in said move of dooml. Yeah. That’s about it right there.

But anyways, I LOVE BATMAN AND SONS.  I cannot say enough how awesome it is. You should seriously, seriously, check it out. And if you haven’t seen it before, PLEASE read from the beginning while you’re alone, because you’ll be LOLing and LOLing until you turn funny colors.

Of kitties and mutants

Ok, SO I’m in the new place.  It’s very lonely with just me and three sleeping kitties. I mean, they’re adorable when they’re sleeping. But really no fun at all.

Not fun like when they chase each other and go skittering across the floors because they’re not used to them.  That is comedy gold.

Tomorrow’s the first day at the new job. I MAY MELT.

So anyways…

What is the deal with Twilight? Ok, I willingly acknowledge that it’s bad. Everything they say about Bella being a placeholder character is too true. Everyone’s too nice and too perfect, even when they’re disagreeing with each other, bladdy bladdy bladdy.

Now comes to the part I really don’t get–why do I want to go see the movie… AGAIN? For the THIRD time? LIke… right now.  I think it’s Stephanie Meyer’s mutant power.  To make you addicted to this book that no sane person has a right to be addicted to. And I say this as someone who captions crayon scribbles and posts them to Livejournal.

My brain may explode from thinking on the issue too long and hard.

Introspection Teimz! (I feel like I should make a macro)

Soooo last year is the year I kinda wish hadn’t happened.  Still…. I got to do some cool things:

1) Went to the KLA conference (and presented there)
2) Went to ChicagoTardis (and  AWESOMENESS ENSUED)
3) Went to several street fairs in the town I work in (even tho I worked ‘em)
4) Worked the funnel cake stand at my old church for old time’s sakes (my family’s been running that stand since half-past forever)
5) Visited Kennywood THREE TIMES (shockingly, it was so cold the water rides were closed all three times–including AUGUST)
6) Went to New Mexico–furthest I’ve ever driven west. It was a cool road trip with some nifty stops
7) Went to the Pittsburgh Zoo
8) Went to the Sedgwick County Zoo (and got hopelessly lost and sunburned–it takes skill to get lost in a ROUND zoo)
9) Rout 66 museum
10) Midnight (well, 10pm) mass at the itty bitty miniature cathedral in Wichita (it’s so cute! I want to put it beneath my tree, next to my theoretical railroad tracks!)
11) Visited El Dorado lake on a cold, windy day
12) Visited Salina for a work thingy and had really great Mexican food
13) Visited Hutchinson for a work thingy and had some really great baked beans
14) Visited the Oil Museum in El Dorado several times
15) Visited the Wichita Public Library (BOY is that a funny looking place!)
16) Went to my first courthouse wedding.  The cake was not a lie.
17) Started teaching like, real college classes.  So that I can be part of the problem and/or solution. Depending on how you define each.
18) Uh… I can’t think of anything else. I’ll update this post if I think of anything.

NE1 live in Leavenworth?

I might be moving there. In about 10 days. So. Thoughts? lol

(srsly, just got offered a contract, and need to find a place to live asap)

That whole outline thing was easier than I thought.  Well, it wasn’t like I really had time to contemplate it.  I only had about 20 hours to get it in.   So we’ll see what happens!! Either way, I still have the article, if nothing comes of the book, so I win no matter what, right?

My grandmother would be proud of me. I wasted so much of her tape and paper when I was a little kid. Now something’s finally coming of my incessant need to CRAFT.  And she always said I could do anything I wanted to, and she always meant it.  So there.

Oh yeah, and people I admire think I’m awesome, so double THERE. And a FINE! on top.

SO anyways, I’m going to somehow disengage myself from the computer, and I’m going to go putter around with my outline for my other thing.  OUTLINING IS FUN! ITS ALL FAKE AND PRETEND AND YOU CANT ME

SS IT UP BY ACTUALLY PUTTING WORDS ON PAPER AND MAKING THE PROJECT SUCK BY VIRTUE OF ITS BEING IN EXISTENCE!
